With reference to the education of the new generation, Deppy Vasileiadis Foundation participated as a sponsor in the 8th Kid’s Painting Contest, “Everyday Heroes”, organized by the Museum of Cycladic Art as part of the celebration of International Museum Day, with children participants aged 4-15 from schools of all grades, as well as special schools in Greece and abroad.
The competition managed to gather 6,000 entries from Greece and abroad and emerged 36 winners and 96 distinguished winners. More than 32,000 users visited the online platform of the Kid’s Contest, which exceeded a total of 325,000 visits.
As part of the competition, the Foundation designed and presented, on the specially designed website of the Museum, a presentation on Composting, to motivate students to transform through their actions into heroes of their houses and neighbourhood. The hero of the Foundation, Leontas, through photographs and videos, acquainted the kids with the term Composting, the procedures of making the special bin, and the materials that are introduced in it to produce the “black gold” or otherwise the compost, a natural fertilizer produced from the recovery of household waste. The aim of the action was no other than to raise the awareness of students for the protection of the natural environment, through creative processes that excite the imagination of the children, expand their cognitive field and encourage group actions.
You can see the presentation of the Foundation on Composting here.
We thank the Museum of Cycladic Art for the creative collaboration and we wish them good luck in their actions!
